CIC Credit Monitoring Service - unauthorized $ 79.95 charge

CIC Credit Monitoring Service- I bought a 3 company credit report in 2003

and had my credit monitored for a few months because of errors on the

report. After the errors were corrected I cancelled my service. For the

next two months I tried to log on to my account to verify it was closed. It

was. Now 2 years later I have an unauthorized $79.95 charge on my credit card.

Today I called the number on my cc statement 800-220-2626 and spoke to

"Emily". After answering several personal "verification" questions that she

claimed were necessary, she found my account. I told her the account was

closed 2 years ago. After a bit of discussion she said I would receive a

credit on my credit card within 7 to 10 days.

I will wait to see if the credit shows up or not. If I had not gone through

my statements well I would have missed the charge and I'm sure they would

have continued to charge me every year.

I do not trust this company and it needs to be checked into. I have no idea

who governs this type of business but it is clear from the posts on this

web site that they consistently use unethical business practices.
