I’ve been paying by phone for a year or more now. I pay the bill in full each and every month for both my business account and my personal account. I discovered yesterday when trying to do this that Chase is now charging a fee of $9.95 if you pay your bill by phone. I think this is ridiculous! It’s a computer transaction; I never even talk to a person. You do have the option of creating an online profile and paying that way. For now at least that is still ‘free’.

I called customer service to ask them why and when this change occurred. She said they were doing it “to be more competitive and that all the other companies are doing it too”. That’s the most asinine thing I’ve ever heard. Now they are charging you a fee to PAY YOUR BILL!
