eBay suspension - enough complains filed at the Dept. of Justice

We were suspended from eBay without getting any explanation as many of you had too. Even though you followed all the steps requested by Safety Harbor, your accounts were not reinstated nor explanation about the suspension was given either.

I read thousands of people complaining and wanting to take legal action again eBay but the reality is that nobody can afford a lawyer and it is not worth it. It is also hard to get a lot of people together to bring a class action lawsuit against them.

After trying to get the things straight with eBay, I wrote to the president Bill Cobb, the CEO Margaret Whitman and many others, never got a straight forward answer. Always the same explanation for security reasons they couldn't tell why we were suspended.

I filed complains with the BBB as well as the Attorney General at the Department of Justice of the State of California. The latter, tried to contact the eBay but they didn't even reply to the Attorney General. The Attorney General cannot by law represent individuals.

eBay thinks is so big that can walk above the law. So far it seems to be true!

So what can we do?

Well, the Attorney General said he couldn’t represent individuals; however, it is quoted from his Public Inquiry Unit "the Attorney General's Office is funded by the people of the State of California to protect and defend their collective legal interests as prescribed by the California State Legislature. Any action brought by this office with respect to consumer protection is necessarily based on a large number of complaints substantiating statewide violations of law"

What it all means, let everyone write to the Attorney General, substantiate your complaint. Meaning, copies of the emails, email they sent to your customers stating basically that you were a crook for that reason they suspended your account, as much information you can provide. Publish this info in as many forums as you can, so other people will know what to do. If we can get few thousand complains about the same issue, definitely the Attorney General will have to investigate about the legally of eBay's procedure.

Remember eBay as a business has the right to hand pick its customers; however, eBay does not have the right to accuse you without providing the reasons and hiding behind the excuse of security concerns.

Here is the information about the Attorney General
