The E Mu 1820M that I purchased @Guitar Center on 12-09-04 for $ 495.00 had been constantly erratic since I hired that stores recommended technician to install for an additional $ 200.00. It would freeze up the entire computer or lose all sound for all other systems. At time of purchase I explained to salesman and later to the technician that I was A complete novice at electronic recording techniques after retiring from the music business as a studio keyboardist and arranger (columbia univ. grad). From the very first day after installation the computer,when being used with the e mu would malfunction repeatedly. Most times the technician would come to readjust settings, at times by phone, sometimes by appointment & charge,

sometimes a quick 20 minute stopover at no charge. During this time, my daughter in La Jolla, was fighting for her life with breast cancer; I flew out to her about 6 times during a 1 1/2 year period. I bought into this electronic recording software/hardware software to record a lullaby for my infant grand daughter and for distraction shortly after her prognosis. Last month I found a new tecnichian who, after two hours found that the E mu setup was defective in the hardware component; replaced it with a different system of all separate components.

That cost an additional $ 290.00. E MU people have refused to help in any way.
