unprofessional leasing agent/company


We have a lease option on a home, and from day one have had several problems. The dishwasher leaked all over the floor and under the cabinets and they didn't have someone come out to fix it for a good 3 weeks. I have a baby who is on a bottle and I could not use the sink to wash the bottles because every time I would turn on the water it would leak EVERYWHERE! Also, had to eat meals out 3x a day!!

When we moved in the wall where the fridge is had a leak with a MUSHROOM growing out of it and to this day, they have not fixed that problem!!!

They handle everything very poorly, the staff is very unprofessional. We mailed out our rent check on the 27th and they CLAIMED they never received it, so decided to start charging late fees WITHOUT us knowing..When we called to inquire they said they would just file legal action. This is the worst company I have ever experienced and I highly recommend if you buy a home RUN AWAY from HOMEAMERICA so you don't get ripped off or in the least treated like a second hand citizen.

It does say in the lease that late fees will be charged if they do not receive it, but how do I know weather or not this is just not a scam to get more money from me? When you call to get an answer from them, the girl (R initial) on the phone simply said, well we will see you in court!! Excuse me? I have put tons of money in this home and had every intention of buying it, up until this point. They called us today on the 9th of May to let us know that they did indeed get our rent check as we had said in the 1 1st place, but since it wasn't postdated on the envelope 5 DAYS BEFORE THE 1ST OF THE MONTH, they will still charge us as per the lease...THIS IS NOT ON OUR LEASE!!

I refuse to deal with people like that! What is the world coming to when customer service acts in this manner? They have the RUDEST people I have ever dealt with and they do not care about the 'buyer' whatsoever!


I would like them to take a course in customer service and learn how to treat people with a little bit of dignity. To be fair, they might to review their policies and revise them a bit. I would also advice when speaking to someone on the phone not to say 'PEACE' instead of good bye, its just plain rude.
