Wachovia Bank Bill Pay System
|
Wachovia Bank Bill Pay System My wife and I have banked with Wachovia Band for over 8 years. My wife had used the bank's bill pay system on several occasions, the last was to post payments to be made on 06/01/06. On 05/31/06 while checking my bank statement on line I noticed a $720.00 overdraft charge and also noticed that payments posted to be taken on the 1st of June were deducted by Wachovia on 30 May, this caused me to be in a overdraft status and Wachovia charged the overdraft fees. Upon calling Wachovia and complaining, my wife was told that the small print allowed Wachovia to deduct the funds early and that there was nothing they could do to refund the overdraft charges and that we should have had the funds available at the time we posted the payments. When asked that if I posted a payment to be made 2 months form now if I had to have the funds available at the time of posting, I was told no. I then asked what the difference was if I post a payment to be made on the 1st of June and they take it on the 30th, the individual could not provide me with a satisfactory answer. I feel that banks use this as a means to make pure proffit at the expense of the consumer.
