AHS/ARS/Andy's Statewide(Bryant Air Conditioner) American Home Shield/ARS/Andy's Statewide To the best of my understanding these companies work together and sell an insurance to Homeowner's that for enhanced service which covers many appliances in your home $480 per year and a $55 per service call fee payable to the vendor of AHS's choice. In May of 2004 I used this service and AHS contacted Andy's Statewide AC service. Andy's Statewide put in an $1,100 Bryant AC unit on my home to replace the one that was not repairable. Andy's Statewide charged me for upgrading my electrical connection to code and for a permit that was required for this service. I checked with The city I live in and they never pulled a permit at my residence however they tried to charge me for it. When I called the service manager they said they would reverse the permit charge however they did upgrade my electrical w/o pulling the permit. Today 5/31/06 my New Bryant AC does not work so I called AHS/ARA and Andy's and spoke with the Manager who I quote said. "The AC is 2 years old we only warranty those for 30 days what do you expect?" The Manager said that "maybe next week they could stop by". It is over 85 degrees in my home today and I have two little children, so I told the manager that I am going to try & find some other company that is honest, provides faster service & stands by their work! I am going to file a complaint with The Better Business Bureau as well.
