Nextel

Nextel My complaint is about Nextel and the sly way of how they renew your phone contract. It all starts in Dec. 2001 that is when I purchased my first Nextel phone. I believe it was in Nov. of 2003 that I purchased replacement phone, when you do this you are agreeing to a new two year contract. To which I did not have a problem with. Nearing the end of my 2nd two year contract in 2005 I called 3 times to confirm my anniversary date and each time I was told it was in March. (not sure how that came about, but no problem) It is now March and I want to cancel my contract, I called Nextel and they said ok but I would have to call a Midwest number later that day to confirm. I waited two hours called Nextel in the Midwest at that time I was told my anniversary date was Dec. of 06 ????? now I'm confused. I told the lady that I confirmed the date was March. She said no that a mailer was sent out to me in Dec. of 2005 and on that mailer (which by the way looks like junk mail so I'm told from Nextel) I was to check either yes or no to continue my Nextel phone service. I told the lady that I do not recall ever getting that mailer. I also asked her if it was sent Certified. (Of course not) Apparently once the original contract is written and all Int. are in place Nextel can do what they want. The final result is Nextel scammed $160.00 from me for early disconnection fee. The original amount was $200.00 but because it was turned over to a collection agency I had a little bit of bargaining power. The other problem (if I did not pay anything) was I would have this on my credit report. I guess Nextel is to involved in racing to be concerned about the little people that got them where they are today. All I can say is, never again will I buy Nextel and I guarantee that I will get my $160.00 worth of negative advertising/complaints From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 30-May-06 11:40:19 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
