Air Deccan Ticket cancellation and refund.

Hi,

I had cancelled a ticket on 9th Apr’06 for journey date 17th Apr’06 from Hyd to Mum at the airport counter. The PNR number is DA04257991. Complaint number 15081.

After that I have called up Air Deccan call center 8 times and also checked always with my credit card officials before calling air deccan for enquiring about my refund. I have been repeatedly informed that the issue has been solved. Ideally that would mean that I should already have my amount of Rs 1371/- back on my credit card. Few points which I need answers to are as below:

1. If I had not followed up and waited for automatic refund then would I have never received that refund?

2. Should I not ask for a fine or interest on the money that has been delayed to me since such a long time?

3. Everytime I call up I wait for atleast 20 mins before I can talk to someone and sometimes they cut the phone. The assumption is once I book a ticket with deccan I am someone with lots of free time with myself.

4. Do you think that after this kind of experience with deccan apart from the other details that one hears about the airlines there is any chance of anyone thinking or talking good of the airlines?

The fact is that every time someone books for deccan he really doesn’t know what is in store for him. In this poor country consumers have always been on the receiving end and the situation seems to never improve. In spite of all the hum ding about consumer having more choices what it actually means is common man or consumer has more issues to tackle in daily life. No one specially corporates care the least about the mental state of people who keep on wasting time on calling tracking and haggling with products or services not delivered properly or grievances not handled respectfully. My only mistake was to book a ticket and cancel the same for which I am being punished and running like a beggar for my own money to be refunded. Is it too much to ask for? Please post the details for benefit of other people to take a informed decision before getting int o any Air Deccan flight.
