AIR TICKET BOOKING- TRAVEL AGENCY

I am travelling to Nairobi, Kenya on 11th June, 2006 with my family and had booked 4 tickets of KENYA AIRWAYS from a travel agency, THE TRAVEL SHOPPE located at Ansal Chambers 2, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi. The travel agent gave me 4% discount on immediate payment. The tickets were from Mumbai to Nairobi to Mumbai.

While booking the tickets, I made a mistake of giving my name as "Swati Verma" instead of "Swati Narang" which was my pre matrimony name and also the name mentioned on my PASSPORT. The next morning when I realised my mistake I contacted the travel agent and asked him to solve the problem. The travel agent suggested that I will have to cancel my earlier ticket and book a new ticket in the name of SWATI VERMA and this would be at a cost of Rs. 1000/=.

As I was keen to apply for visas, I paid him the Rs. 1000/= and got a new ticket. However later in the day when I checked with Kenya Airways I realised that the cost of cancellation is only Rs. 300/=. I also spoke to the sales head of the Airlines, Mr. Bose and he confirmed that the travel agent has overcharged him. When I confronted the travel agent owner, Mr. Amit about it he mentioned that the Rs. 1000/= are his official fees for cancellation. He also mentioned that he has incurred losses in booking my tickets as he was out of stock and had to buy the tickets for me.

In this whole process I sufferred a loss of Rs. 700/= and therefore seek your guidance in helping me out.
