PerfectMatch.com / Dating Service

I believe that PerfectMatch.com is engaged in unfair, deceptive, and fraudulent business practices. In fact, I would go so far as to say that I believe they are operating a scam.

PerfectMatch.com does not allow potential new clients to view samples of the services it offers or profiles posted with them. I recently signed up for a 2 month membership for which I paid $59.95. After 4 days PerfectMatch.com had still not provided me with any matches. Further, searching through the profiles of individuals posted from my locale, I found the exact same individuals who had profiles posted on Match.com and Yahoo Personals. That is to say, PerfectMatch.com had nothing new to offer me and I cancelled my membership.

I have asked for a refund that I feel I am entitled to since had they allowed me to search the profiles prior to signing up I would have been cognizant of the fact they had nothing to offer me and therefore would not have joined.

While I am aware that PerfectMatch.com has an 'all sales are final' policy I do not see how they can possibly enforce that policy when they do not allow the consumer to see what it is they are (or rather are not) buying until they pay the fee.

Again, this is quite clearly a deceptive business practice and as such I feel that I am legally entitled to a full refund of my $59.95.

Further, I believe that PerfectMatch.com is the worst kind of corporate bottom feeder; the kind that preys on the lonely and desperate. If you read the Federal Trade Commission's description of deception, I think you will find it applies to PerfectMatch.com's business practices.
