Computer electronics rebate

Computer electronics rebate Business: TigerDirect, Inc. 7795 West Flagler St., Suite 35 Miami, FL. 33144 Product/service: Rebate on computer hard drive. I purchase a computer hard drive through Tiger on the basis that there was a $40.00 rebate. The rebate required that I send in the UPC code. In this case the drive was in OEM packaging (clear plastic) with out the UPC code you find and cut out of retail boxes. I completed and documented the missing UPC and supplied all of the other information. I was denied the rebate. I emailed the rebate dept and several occasions. In each case I was assigned a tracking number and promised a reply within 72 hours. I never received a reply. I then called the tigerdirect rebate department. On three occasions I was put into a queue and the line went dead after about twenty minutes on each call. I never did get to a person by phone. I then called the sales department and got right through but, after explaining my plight, the sales department informed me that they could not help nor transfer my call even though sales and rebate departments are in the same building. As a last resort I mailed in all the email correspondence and original rebate info with a detailed account of my experience. After four weeks, I received a form letter list saying "Denied: No UPC". Bottom line: Do not trust Tiger Direct rebates. They will go to any length to deny a claim and the rebate customer service is horrendous. Bottom line: Kudo's to Segate. They offered a $10.00 rebate on the hard drive and I received that rebate within three weeks.
