Cancellation of Sears card # 5049 9480 2337 9714

Sir/ Madam:

On 12 may 2006 I visited the Coral Gables-Miami, FL 01125 with the intend to buy a

pair of shoes. When I completed my selection and proceeded to pay with my Sears

card, I was told that my card was cancelled and could not be used for the transaction. Proceeded to ask your associate # 36921 and ask why that card was cancelled. In the meantime the associate commented, maybe you are over the limit

or haven't pay your balance. I responded my account should be up to date since I

have not used the card or NEVER LATE. The associate proceeded to call a number and the answer on the other end was that I selected to cancel my account on April 27,2006. I purchase the shoes on salescheck # 011253150447, trans # 0447 99 01125 315 and paid with Bank of America Check Card.

Upon completing the transaction, I initiated a call to customer service listed on my

credit card 1-800-917-7700 and after speaking with your representative, I learned that

my card had been cancelled when I call Sears stating that I did not want Mastercard that was offered during the month of April 2006.

Here is my position on this issue, When I call Sears stating that I did not wanted the Mastercard, your representative cancelled my old Sears account and let me without

card at all. I found out that I did not have a Sears credit card when I visited the Coral Gables, Miami store. Dispite the arrogance of telling me probaly I owed money or

did not pay my bills on time, I insisted on activating my account which I opened in

1975. Neither your store or your customer service representative solved the issue.

The answer was, I need to initiate a new request for new card. Final to this issue,

I don't see any reason why my 31 years in good standing account cannot be reinsta-

ted. If I have to solicit a new card with a new number attached to Mastercard, Sears can keep the credit card(s) including my wife's. Please reply with your final answer

to this issue. I don't need a Mastercard from Sears, I could use the old Sears card.

Sincerely,

Emilio J. Lopez
