Rogers Wireless Service, 2 phone on family plan in Toronto.

Competive prices on Handsets, very expensive and terrible value on term contracts, mediocre customer service and store service.

Initially, right off the bat, it went bad. I spent some time at the Rogers store in Brampton (on Hurontario) selecting good phone numbers, and then when I gave the phone as Christmas presents I found that the phones had not been properly activated and we lost the numbers. I had to spend another 45 minutes on the phone search for numbers that I could live with and activating the phones. This Christmas was on a weekend so we had to wait for the next business day.

My wife told me to return it as Rogers does not have good reception in downtown Toronto anyway and the prices seemed high, but I said no, I have many other services with rogers and was satisfied, and I would stick with their phones. This was a big mistake.

The price of the phones initially was good but the terms of the contract are terrible. You think you're getting two phone for the price of one. What you are actually getting is two phones with light usage features and but high usage prices. You might as well get two phones seperately because you will get a decent amount of minutes. My first bill in January was $101 with no usage.

Recently I spoke to Rogers and a customer service agent referred to the contract multiple times when I asked if there was any way to improve the value of the service. They had some flexibility, but the only way I could reduce the cost was to get rid of basically all my daytime minutes.

I have dealt with Telus Mobility for 5 years and the service has been satisfactory for the time. Seems like a high price but a lot of minutes and other value is bundled in (such as voice mail). These is NOT INCLUDED under and Rogers Wireless plan. Caller ID is also extra. Just think on how much you depend of Caller ID to make your cell phone useful.

Although all my other Rogers services have been satisfactory I will definitely think twice before again dealing with their Wireless division again.

I'm waiting for the Rogers Wireless nightmare to be over so I can throw these phones out the window and get a decent usage plan with Telus. I can't even sell the phone because everybody else can get a better deal than I do with Rogers.
