Rival Model 1101 Meat Slicer - Holmes Consumer Service RE: Holmes Consumer Service - Rival Food Slicer repair trouble We received a Rival Food Slicer just a few months ago. After using two times the plastic gear behind the blade was broken. Since it was still under warranty and ran nearly $100.00 new we felt we should contact them directly. Was that a mistake !!! Their customer service is absolutely terrible. We contacted them many many many many times and were eventually told the blade was out of stock but would be back in stock in March of 2006. We continued to contact them and then the stated the blade wasd not a replacement part and we would have to send the entire unit back and pay some $20 plus dollars for shipping of a new one. We thought that was odd. Then, we contacted them again to say that they blade would be back in stock again soon. Now they tell us that the unit hasn't even bee made anymore for quite some time and that we should take it back to the store. The store says no, it is Rivals problem. So we contacted Rival after numerous emails again with no response. This has gone on for months now and it is out of warranty now. After getting upset with them , they told us that now they only make one unit slier unit and it is much less in quality and we would again have to send back our other one to get it. The replacement unit would again now nearly cost us just as much just for shipping as we can find it at a local Walmart. It is much much lover in quality. This is terrible and would never buy another product from their company. We have seen many people experiencing the same poor service regarding the same product including right here on Complaints.com.
Half the battle is getting them to even respond to emails !!!
RE: Rival Food Slicer, Model #1101 W Part #993-978. Should I send all copies of e-mail and our original letter to them along with the form, or wait a few days to see if you can do something.
