I recently bought I computer from MDG. I went in to MDG looking for a basic computer for surfing the internet. The computer would also be used for donwloading digital photos.


My problem is how the staff conducts the sales. It appears to be a "bait & switch"; advertise a good price in the paper, and switch the buyer to a more expensive model.


I was looking at the Horizon 3400. When I went to the store, they mentioned that the Horizon was a inferior product and could not be upgraded. I was also told that the 19" flat screen that came with Horizon 3400 is a no name brand a of poor quality. The Horizon came with a Intel Pentium 4 with dual core technology. The product they convinced me to buy was the Apton. The bundle came with less free upgrades and a Celeron Intel chip. The cost was over $200 more. The sales staff told be the Intel Celeron was better than the Intel Pentium 4 with dual core. For some reason, I believed them. Furthermore, when I got home, I realized that there was less memory on the Apton. This same sales pitch was being told to a woman right behind me, she want a very basic computer as well.


I was not told until after I completed the sale about all the "terms". Such as a no refund or exchange policy. The sales staff should notify the customer prior to the purchase. There are no signs or no mention of this term on the original invoice they showed me. I noticed this term after the sale, he handed me another invoice with the term. I was also told that the store would only honour some terms of the MDG warranty and the store is selective on which items. I found this out the next day. If I knew this information up front, I would have not purchased a computer MDG. I was very disappointed that they conduct business this way, at least they should have noted all the true terms before the sale.


I am very disappointed with MDG, they way they conduct business and the lack of customer service after the deal.
