Social Circles is a membership program that hosts events for singles. I had signed up for an 18 month membership, did not find the activities all that appealing for the most part and so let the membership lapse. Unfortunately for me, the plan has an automatic renewal clause that charges a $79/month fee once the initial membership had expired, without any prior notice or request for confirmation. I tried to cancel and appeal the charges to no avail, Joe from customer service threatened legal/collections action in response (apparently the firm is used to browbeating former customers ready to leave) and informed me that cancellation is effective after 30-day notice (good for yet another monthly charge). For everyone, it's caveat emptor, buyer beware for this predatory membership plan.

The same thing happened to me. Same $79 charges, no notification the subscription was increasing, and the same guy Joe threatening legal action. Don't do business with this company.
