Charter Communications High-Speed Internet

North Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Ever since November 2005, my Internet access has been spotty. I run connection sensitive applications, such as online gaming and Citrix sessions to work. I cannot have my connection dropping continuously. I got a visual trace routing program and have been watching the packets traverse their network to my destinations. Repeated, almost on the hour at times, I lose my connection for a minute, long enough for my connection to work or to the game server to terminate. Last night was the last straw when I kept losing connection, every hour, but this time for 10 minutes at a time.

The trace route shows that I was communicating two router hops out, so it is not my modem. However, I have seen my DHCP address change repeatedly after each outage?!?

I made the calls to customer service, however this is over level 1 & 2 heads, as the network engineers in charge of those crappy routers need to get off their ass's and start monitoring their equipment better.

I hate DSL, but what choice do I have. So long Charter!!
