Wickes Furniture- Warranty Failure
In May of 2003, we purchased a couch from Wickes Furniture. The sales person encouraged us to buy the warranty plan which would cover "anything" on the couches. On Saturday, May 27, I noticed the leather on the couch starting to peel and crack. I went into Wickes that same day to buy a kitchen table and chairs and spoke to the sales person about our couches. She told us to call first thing on Tuesday (Memorial Day was Monday). I called "Stain Safe" who is the warranty company who Wickes contracts out. I told them about my couches. The warranty contract specifically says it covers "cracking and peeling after one year" yet they denied my claim. Stain Safe says it didn't happen on the day I said it happened. How do they know that? I either want the couches fixed or replaced, or Wickes needs to contract with a different Warranty Company.
I called Wickes Directly and asked them to help me out. All they could offer was to ask their Stain Safe representative to resolve this issue, but it was again declined. I asked the Wickes Customer Service representative to have a manager call me. She said she would within 72 hours. It has been 4 days and I have not received a call from the Manager.
The warranty says they will fix it, but they don’t. Five of my rooms are furnished with Wickes furniture. I will never purchase furniture there again nor will I ever recommend anyone else buy furniture from them.
