AT&T Ohio Today, June 8, 2006 is the day that my phone service was to be changed from the 'old AT&T' to the 'new AT&T'. This is something to do with an AT&T/SBC merger and was required in order that I might order DSL service. Well, you guessed it, my phone line is dead. This happened while I was at the doctor's office and could not call home in order to be picked up. When I was picked up and stopped at a pay phone to call for service I had to listen to a bunch of automated crap telling me that there was no problem with the number. There was never an option given to speak with a human. Finally muddled through to get a report in, but first they tried to make me state 'yes' that I would be responsible for a seventy-something dollar service charge. Repair is to be accomplished by tomorrow evening There is no litany of missed dates or rude employees here--yet. What has happened is bad enough. Have also complained to PUCO and strongly urge others with complaints to let them be known and public.
