A.C. Jason, real estate

A.C. Jason, real estate l went to A.C. Jason to buy one of their rental properties, and it was rent with option to buy. l put $7000 down on the property and they promised to make sure that repairs that were needed to be done within the first year would get taken care of. What l didn't know at the time is that the house was never inspected or certified by the city for rental, and that if l decided not to buy the house l could lose my $7000 consideration. But here's the problem: The basement needs $20,000 in repairs because they never told me the house wasn't up to code, and yes, something l should've known. However if the house had a more fair price, perhaps $25,000 l would be able to live with putting money into the house. l believe they fraudulently tried to sell me this house because they do poor repair work, take months at a time to answer my requests for repairs and are extremely unprofessional on the phone. According to the agreement, if l miss one rent payment during the first year they can evict me. So, l feel l should get my $7000 back, plus what l paid in rent because the 12 rent payments of $635 were going towards the purchase of the house, not just for rent. Anyone who reads this who has bad credit and wants to own a home DO NOT go to Northewest Detroit Homes/A.C. Jason, they do not practice what they preach. They advertise homes that are certified with the city, but try to rent folks for a year and then hope and pray that the potential porperty owner either fails to pay rent or fails to get them to try to fix anything so they can scam some other low income person out of thousands of their hard earned dollars, SHAME ON THEM!!!!
