Loan against CITI Bank Credit Card...

Dear Sir/Madam:

I have a CITI Bank Credit Card (MasterCard) No. 5189 3690 7792 3002. Couple of weeks back, I received a call from Ms. Sarda Lakhshmi, CITI Bank, Chennai (Phone No. 044 28542367). She offered me a loan of Rs. 45000/- against my CITI Bank Credit Card @ 15% interest per annum. I requested for an amount for Rs. 60,000/- but due to my Card credit limit, I was not eligible for it. As advised by her, I sent her a SBI Credit card Statement (where my credit limit is Rs. 75,000/-) against which My CITI Bank Credit Card limit got enhanced to Rs. 75,000/-.

After that, she called me up again and told that now I can avail my desired amount of Rs. 60,000/-. I negotiated with her on the rate of interest and the tenure of the loan and finally she agreed to offer me the loan of Rs. 60,000/- @ 14% per annum for 48 months tenure. She confirmed me the EMI for this would be Rs. 1640/- for 48 months.

Surprisingly when I received the Cheque, I found that the rate of interest charged is 15% and the EMI amount is Rs. 1670/-. I immediately called up at the above mentioned number and spoke to Ms. Lakhshmi. She assured me that it will be rectified immediately and one letter in this regard will be sent to me through email as well as via post within a couple of days time. I followed up after this for quite some time and every time she assured me that it will be done soon. Yesterday when I called up again, she didn’t attend the phone and conveyed by some other lady that she is not available. Then I looked for Mr. Dheeraj Sharma (who is supposed to be her superior) and same message was conveyed to me that he is also not available.

Now I am scared of being cheated as I can not get hold of anyone who can look into my case. I would request the concerned person to look into it and resolve it at the earliest. I am attaching here all the relevant mail interactions that I had with CITI Bank in this regard.
