Vento, VThunder purchased at CtiyWheels in Kansas City, MO.

For the future consumer

I bought a Vento, Vthunder in April of this year (2006) and it has been down more than up.

The generator was not wired right from the get-go.

The roll cage broke twice in a weld location. ( the replacement roll cage broke the same day I got the scooter back.)

The drive chain broke after 2500 miles.

The leather saddle bags are fraying.

The clutch gave out after 2000 miles

Check this one out; there were extra parts in the clutch housing that did not belong there

The clutch still blows through gears (1st to 3rd, 2nd to 4th, etc)

It takes weeks to get replacement parts.

My scooter is still down and I have to drive 30 miles to work.

My Nissan Titan gets about 18 miles to the gallon.

That is why I bought this Vento, to save on gas

This scooter fits under the Lemon Law.

Check with a lawyer or your local Call-for-Action News Media.

Keep other from throwing their money away.

My complaint is that I couldn't find my Vento V THunder Limited Touring soon enough..

The only "bugs" are that the clutch does "DUMP" into first when I use pressure on the hand part of the clutch.. What happens is I apply pressure to the handle controlling the clutch and if it's been ridden recently ... I noticed it pops into first .. Now this may be a mere shaving of a part needing to be done or it may be a defective "PART" inside the casing ... But thus far I am getting good results with this bike..

I also wander if it could be the RPM's haven't gone down enough and it's popping but not JERKING ME FORWARD .. u can hear it when it does it... It doesn't do it if I go straight into second and THEN into first though.. maybe a tightness inside the casing..

So I'm also wandering what you mean by drive chain .. If by that you mean the big chain of LINKS like on a regular bi-cycle then Mine is fine... The people I bought it from give me a 3 month drive chain and engine warranty.. basically covering the mechanical and electrical parts but not damage I do ... like Over Powering the engine to much and killing or burning it up... Or wrecking it... They went to the trouble of putting a Battery Tender on my bike and they also went to the trouble of having their mechanic take apart the carborator to ensure it's cleanliness and check the bolts and the frame etc... Told me to come back in 2 to 3 days to ensure the thing is proper and working really well.. so that it can be checked in case of defects etc...

Does this sound not like a good deal ? Besides I only payed for mine about 3k ... It came with solid fiber/solid hard plastic saddle bags and it came with lighting kits in the bags etc... and in the back and a windshield that comes up past my chin... umm the special lighting kit you see basically on the Harley Limited Touring Millennium Edition ..

Does this sound like a lemon waiting to happen or does it sound to you guys like something that with love and care for a bike could work ? etc..
