RE: Gibson guitar strings.. in particular Their "Dicky Betts Signature"

series. I read Gibson's description of the subject strings which said

the ball ends were silk thread wrapped. It has been very difficult over

the years to find their wrapped end string.. so I ordered several sets

from a dealer. The strings are not silk thread wrapped.. they are not

wrapped at all.. which was the only reason for buying this product. I

complained to the retailer and was told it wasn't their problem so I

contacted Gibson.. both by phone and by email address shown on their web

page to no avail. Of course it's only a minor financial loss... buying

strings that are not as advertised... but given the lack of concern on

Gibson's part I am leery of buying anything from them. And considering

selling my new Gibson guitar, given the experience with their customer

service, should I need warranty service I may encounter the same

indifference.

Never again.
