Vizio Rear projection TV: VIZIO RP56 To whom it may concern,
I am the owner of one of your products:
VIZIO RP56 Part No. 10449010023 Mfg date: 04/2004
S/N: DMRAASAE170584
This TV was purchased at the Santa Maria, California Costco.
This is to notify you that I have given up trying to get help for this product by calling your Vizio “Customer Support” system: http://www.vizioce.com/site/contact_us/contact_us.html
I have made three calls, having to wait long periods of time to speak to a person, Who then only transferred me to another person, who stated that “someone would get back to me”. Someone never did.
Another call attempt, after waiting over 20 minutes to speak with your customer support, I was disconnected.
Another attempt finally succeeded in speaking to a person who took down the information I wanted; (I simply desired to buy a replacement color wheel & lamp); she stated that the information would Be e-mailed to be. I never received any e-mail from your firm.
I finally restored to contacting a local electronics service company, who stated that they had similar difficulty in establishing a service contact with your firm, only to finally learn that you don’t even have the replacement lamps in stock, and that a $500 charge for the lamp and approximately a 5 week lead time would be required.
It doesn’t require much analysis to determine that your product: a) Is not supported. Period. b) Has inflated prices for common “stock” (except of course, you don’t even stock) items: (other manufacturers std lamps ~ $200) c) Will be cheaper to throw out and buy a REPUTABLE firms (i.e., SONY) product
I will never again purchase any product you manufacture.
I am cc:ing Costco, as they seem to be a reputable firm, and should be aware of the POOR service that goes along with your line of products, which I noted that Costco is still selling.
The sad part is, all you had to do was answer your calls and sell me a part.

Just search COMPLAINTS.COM and you will see consumers agree that "Vizio means, Junk." Faulty manufacturing of is suspected to be the culprit of two (2) Vizio plasma television sets purchased by myself, a Mississippi resident, and turned on within 24-hours of each other. I contacted customer service with the company about the claim, and was simply advised "It's outside the manufacturer's warranty" leaving me to explore all other options available to me. Vizio expressed no other concerns, other to say write a letter and I assure that it will be read. Therefore, I encourage all: "Buyer beware, DON'T BUY VIZIO THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, OR ANYOTHER TIME because contrary to the claims made by Vizio that they are the #1 leading manufacturer in North America, they are assured to leave a nasty taste in your mouth. They may lead in sales, but product quality is much to be desired.
