Arena Bridal in Michigan

Arena Bridal in Utica Michigan,

Arena Bridal was very unprofessional with the way they conduct there business. I put forth two attempts in trying to reach them to resolve a problem that not only I have had but 3 others as well. I have a cousin who works for a radio station here in Michigan, and is always looking for a good story to get his listeners involved in. You know what they say “the best form of advertisement is word of month”.

I went into Arena Bridal for a fitting when I was pregnant and 20lbs over weight which put me at a size 12. I informed the girl that measured me that I wanted her to order me what ever size I was measuring at incase I had a hard time losing that baby weight, since the wedding is 10 weeks after my due date. The girl did not due what I asked ( the customer) when I told her I wanted the size 12. She instead had me sign something saying that I wanted her to order the size 10.

To make a long story short I have already paid $30 for more material, and have now found out that I have to pay $125 to get the piece of **** dress to fit properly. The dress itself was $215. Now pay attention, when I called and spoke to Janice the manager (she refused to give me her last name, she said they don’t do that) she told me that if she was measuring me that she would have ordered me the size 12, and that she wasn’t sure why her employee ordered me the smaller size.

So the manager is admitting to me that she was unsuccessful at training her girls properly, but lets them do it anyways. I will be filing other complaints because now after hearing other stories of women that this has happen too, seems like Arena Bridal has a hard time with over weight people. I was trying to get them to own up to what they’ve done by paying for half of the alterations, and still they refuse to help me. Janice won’t do anything because she has my initials on a piece of paper saying that I knew about the different size (witch was not printed on my receipt). I tried to get her to understand that the girl and I agreed that it was going to be a size 12 so why would I think she would write down something different. Every girl in there is a size 2 and so you can only assume that Arena Bridal feels that there clients should all fit that mold.

The reason I’m even more upset is that I’ve lost all my baby weight to look good for the wedding and when I went in to get the alterations I’m measuring a size 9. The dress is a 10 and she’s adding 10inches of material to the dress. Arena Bridal is not concerned at all by what I’ve told them, they only care about the sale and moving on to the next person. Arena Bridal will have a hard moving on to the next person, just like they have inconvenienced me I will make sure to repay the favor.

Thank you,

Melissa from Michigan

This situation and name are unfamiliar. But on our behalf sizing is a very touchy subject at our store, and some women are more sentitive to this matter than others. We have and always will do your very best to direct the consumer in the right direction with all of our experience behind us, 70 years. Although we may not please every soul that does business with us, we attempt to rectify any issue that may arise to the best of our ability and we certainly appreciate their patronage.
