MBNA America Visa

This probably isn't the worst complaint that you have received about MBNA but it does show how MBNA America treats its customers. I have had an MBNA America credit card since 1997. In that time I had never been late or missed a payment until March of 2006. I was late in March because I was on vacation. I called and MBNA removed the March late fee. I was late again in July because I was out of town. Being that I have always been a great customer and I average $4,000.00 to $5,000.00 a month in charges to the MBNA card which I pay off each month, I was expecting MBNA to make an exception to their policy and remove the late fee for July. When I talked with a customer (no) service rep. they refused to remove the fee. I explained to them that I was out of town and that in the nine years that I have had the card, I had only been late once (with the March payment and it was only late by one day). They still refused to remove the fee. As someone who runs a small business, I understand how important it is to keep your better customers satisfied. MBNA clearly doesn't understand this. I informed the customer service rep. that I would no longer be using the card and that I'm sure that Capital One or American Express would like to receive the merchant fees from the purchases that I make.
