Cancelling AOL account

I called in April to cancel an AOL account that I did not realize I was being charged for, the gentleman did credit me for the prior 3 months but failed to close my account. Instead I received a "free" month of service and once again charged for June and July. What a scam!!!! No credit this time, but I was assured my account was cancelled. What poor customer service. If I actually used the service maybe a free month would be somewhat beneficial to me.
