I was pressured into accepting the free security system w/a 3 yr contract after saying I wanted to speak w/my husband about it first. I was told it was a 1-day deal and I would lose out. I asked if I could cancel after I spoke w/him about it and he said yes (I had I think it was 5-7 days to cancel). I talked it over w/my husband and we decided not to get the system so I called 3 days later to cancel and then was informed to send a letter saying I wanted to cancel, so I did by fax. (and I have a fax confirmation w/the date) that says complete verifying I canceled the system.

Not long after, I received the system at my home and put return to sender on the package.

3mos later I started receiving deductions from my checking account for 29.97 for Protect America. I called them and said there's been a mistake I sent you a letter by fax canceling the contract and returned the package. They said they never received the fax and they didn't receive the equipment back. I argued forever w/them about having a confirmed fax letter w/the date saying I canceled and that I put return to sender on the box, they called me a liar, etc.

I tried everything in the book to get them to cancel the system and nothing. 2 years later I'm still paying 29.97 every month for 3 yrs. That's 36mos by the time I'm finished X 29.97 = $1,078.92.

I'm going to send a complaint form into the better business bureau and would like for anyone out there w/protect America complaints that are the same to join w/me. Please send me your name and contact information (you can keep this as confidential as you'd like, email, etc) just some way for them to verify that you're complaining and I didn't make you up. Once I receive 10 other complaints like mine I'll send them the letter of complaint.
