Mediacom telephone service
|
Mediacom telephone service I subscribed to Mediacom cable and internet about a month ago. I also requested transfer of my phone number/service from Verizon at the same time. TV and internethave been working fine but I have been left in limbo with regard to telephone service. When I applied, I was given a third party number to call so that Mediacom can take over from Verizon the number I wanted to keep. I was told I would be contacted by Verizon after that to arrange an appointment for a technician to connect us to Verizon. That never happened. In the meantime Verizon disconnected me and when I called to ask them why they said this line/number has been transferred to another company. They were very courteous and said they are more than happy to reconnect me if I wished. I called Mediacom to ask what was going on. I was told they can’t connect me to their system if the line has already been disconnected by Verizon. I explained that I never asked Verizon to disconnect me and that all I did was to confirm to the 3rd party company that I wished my number transferred to Mediacom. The lady I was talking to simply kept repeating that they can not do it if the line has already been disconnected. I asked to talk to someone higher up and the rep reluctantly let me talk to someone else. This person asked me to hold while he checked if there is anything he can do. I waited for exactly 35 minutes and then hang up. I am still with no phone. Does anyone know what I should do next. I have a feeling if I go back to Verizon I will be asked to pay reconnection fee. I would very much like to avoid yet another session of aggravating talk with Mediacom’s rude representatives. Can someone suggest a better course of action, please. Thanks. I too am a very disatisfied Medicom customer. I am frequently without a phone, and at times without internet access as well. Another company needs to give them some competition; then maybe their service would improve??
