Gordon's Jewelers

Gordon's Jewelers

Last week I called Gordon's Jewelers in Pueblo Colorado. I asked if they would appraise the pieces of jewelry we had purchased at their stores for insurance purposes. Most were bought in Tyler Texas, but a few more recent pieces were purchased in Pueblo. I did tell the woman when I called where we had bought the items. She said they would appraise any jewelry purchased at Gordon's with no cost to the customer.

Today I gathered up the items and went to their store. The manager, Darrel Myers, said he didn't know what the woman was talking about, that they would not do it. When I repeated what the woman had said, he went to the back room where the regional manager was, Homer Hailey (who didn't even bother to come out to the front of the store), who said not only would they not do it even if purchased there, but that it would cost $60.00 per item. The average rate in this city from a few independent jewelry stores I called is around $40.00 per item no matter where purchased.

Usually my husband buys me a very nice piece of jewelry for special occasions and because of the professional and curteous treatment we had always received at Gordon's in Tyler Texas we were continuing to buy at their store here. No longer. I would suggest to anyone considering where to purchase jewelry, Gordon's should be avoided!
