capital one is bad business

I recently (nov 7, 2005) took a medical loan from Capital One Healthcare Financial to pay for my dental.

I never received a bill or any paperwork of any kind except for the paper I signed at the dentist office when I applied for the loan. The paper did not say when or how I was to repay the loan. Whether by payment book, or monthly bill or whatever. I was awaiting some type of information from Capital One.

When I asked at the dentist office, the receptionist assured me that Capital One would send me something shortly.

I received a phone call on 1-8-2006 from Capital One stating that I was 2 months late on my payment and that I was going to be reported to the Credit Berauo in 2 days.Capital One went on to verify my address, which they had incorrect in their system, They determined that my information was sent to the wrong address (one that did not exist). They had received the information back from the post office and had made no attempt to contact me concerning the return of the information. Capital One made no apology of any kind. Capital One said this was my fault for failing to call and ask for a bill. Capital One advised me that I was to pay them within 2 days or they would report me to the Credit Berauo regardless of the fact that they did not send me a bill or my account # or any information of any kind.

I asked to speak to a supervisor.

Capital One manager lied to me when he stated that Capital One had repeatedly tried to contact me by phone. He was very rude to me and laid all blame on me. How in the world was I to know they were sending my info to the wrong people. Also, I have an ill family member home at all times who knows I had not received any calls.

A female Capital One phone operator told me that only one call had been made to me...the one I received on 1-8-2006. I had called her to make a payment only moments after ending my conversation with the manager due to his rudeness and lack of ability to accept responsibility for Capital One's mistake.

I am sending the bulk of the unspent loan money back to Capital One tomorrow via my Dentist office. I will pay Capital One the few hundred bucks I owe them...they wont ear one dime of interest from me now or ever. I will never use Capital One ever again and I will tell anyone who will listen to me how unprofestional, rude and unfair they treated me.

YOU CANT BE LATE FOR A BILL YOU NEVER RECEIVED AND NEVER KNEW YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE. We are people to be treated with respect. There are to many other places to borrow money from. Use someone else!!!!!
