My broadband stopped working. I phoned BT customer support and they "logged it" 3 days later it still did not work. I entered it on their complaints website (which spells complaint wrong) - not even an automated responses, I tried again - nothing. I phoned again - now 5 days without service no response. I phoned their general help line and was told that the only person I could speak to was an accounts person. I asked what they did and they said they took cancellations - so I gave a weeks notice. Out of interest I phoned the customer support line again. They said it had been logged but somebody cancelled it by mistake. In any case they would not repair the fault as I had given notice to terminate. I pointed out that this was breach of contract. The very nice man then told me that all the call centre had been sacked and they finished work tomorrow.


I have written to BT and told them that under no circumstances will I pay for the period from when the service went down to the notice expiring - no response. I now have a new cheaper provider.
