Service not recieved but still being charged

Service not recieved but still being charged Hi I saw your site and was freally hoping you could help me. My complaint is as follows: I was already with AOL and decided to upgrade from dial up to broadband. I was told the modem would be sent but I never recieved the modem or any letters/emails informing me they had attempted to deliver it. Shortly after this I was charged whenever I wanted to access aol. I assumed that because for one reason or another they had not sent the modem they had therefore cancelled my broadband application and so instead of paying for a service I had not recieved, they had rightly charged me per minute when I wanted to access AOL. I checked with my bank to ensure there were no direct debits to AOL which there wasn't (I later found out payment was via monthly card purchase). I then moved house and saw a bank statement which showed I was being charged for AOL broadband despite the fact that AOL acknowledge I never recieved the modem. So as well as being charged a monthly subscription for something I never had I was also being charged per minute to dial AOL. I am having problems cancelling this through my bank because rather cleverly AOL recieve payment via card purchase meaning I can only cancel through them. When I have phoned AOL I get through to India and they take it upon themselves to tell me they will not cancel it and gave me no further options. Because I have not been budgeting for these payments I am now overdrawn and instead of paying From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Saturday, 07-Jan-06 17:35:48 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
