Nextel didn't have good coverage for our home and wouldn't let us out of our contract My husband and I had a horrible time getting Nextel to allow us out of our contract due to poor cell service in a home we moved to. I was able to get resolution by filing a complaint with the FCC, in which Nextel is required to respond within 45 days.

Within 30 days, I received a call from a nice lady in Sprint’s regulatory division who assured me that she placed a notation on my account which authorized me to cancel with no fee. She followed it up with a letter for my records. She gave me the customer service that Nextel denied me and all is well and I’m back with Verizon Wireless.
Please pass this info on to others, so they don’t feel trapped by a cell providers termination fees. If they can’t provide the proper service, no one should have to stay with them.
