Akron, OH HHGREGG.... On Jan. 13, I called the local HHGREGG store to ask
about the availability of a Whirlpool Duet Washer & Dryer. I was told that
they had them, but only two of the dryer in the whole district. I asked if I
could give the credit card number on the phone, and have the wife stop in
after work to sign. We did that. Bought if from them no fuss, no salesman
needed. I knew what I wanted when I called. It couldn't have been eaiser for
them. Now before I go on, the reason I called that store is because they
have next day delivery, and we wanted them delivered on Saturday as that is
most convenient for us. Delivery was the next day. The delivery guys
scratched the heck out of the washer. We refused it. They brought another
out on Sunday. After they left we ran a load of clothes. Dryer wouldn't
turn. We called them that night. Got nowhere with that call. Called the next
morning, they said to call service. Service said it would be Wed. I called
back delivery and told them that wouldn't work, we needed the dryer. They
said they couldn't deliver one until Tuesday. Now all their commercials
state that if you purchase before 2pm they can deliver the same day. I guess
that doesn't go for them replacing faulty equipment. I told them I had
things to do on Tuesday afternoon, and it had to be in the morning. Well, it
is now noon, the driver just called, and he won't be here for at least
another 45 minutes. Another day wasted. I just had to call and cancel my
appointments that I had. What fun this is. Buyer Beware!!!!! Shop elsewhere
if you value customer service.... PS: Sears was actually cheaper on this set
of appliances, but with we went with Gregg to get the next day delivery...
Haste makes waste I guess. Jay
