While in Orlando in June 2005 I went to this store to buy my son a DVD player which was selling for a $100 as per the advertisement. I asked about the price of the video camera’s the one specific camera the Sony DVD602 e he said was $230 dollars I immediately calculated this by 7 to convert it to our currency which was a R1610, which I thought was a very good price as I had bought a older type and bigger in size for R2000.00 the year before.

When ringing up the purchase George was very clever he asked me to first put my details on the slip for guarantee purposes and then he wrote down the items I had purchased. I had my 2 year old son running around in the store. I handed over my credit card and picked Joshua up. George had asked me when I was leaving and I told him the Saturday. They also removed as the goods from the packaging so even if I wanted to return the goods I would have been unable as I did not have the original packaging. I then went over to sign the credit card and had my son in the other arm so I only had one arm. George held his had over the amount while I signed the slip. I didn’t even check because I never expected anyone to do anything like this to a single mother. Imagine when I got back to the resort and later that evening checked the slip and noticed I had been charged $3429.26 dollars for a camera which retails for R3500 in my own country max $500.

I tried to contact the store the same evening but the phone just rang and I was leaving the next day. Every time I look at this camera I want to get sick I paid more for this camera than my whole holiday to the USA cost me. I have subsequently cancelled my MASTERCARD as they also would not take action against these criminals. I also took the matter up with the Florida Consumer Services but they have also done nothing !!! Please who else can I contact to STOP them for good.
