Empire Today /carpet and laminate flooring Empire Today Long Island New York...
Are nightmare started back in March of 2004 when we lost our home to a fire, after rebuilding and 14 months later, we decided to go with both carpet and laminate flooring, we called Empire Today. Again like you this took several attempts before we could get a rep. to come to us and show us the samples of products available. After we chose the carpet and laminate, now came the install day. Well the crew were several hours late, they two spoke very little English, after they installed the upstairs greatroom, we realized that the color and the carpet texture were different from what we chose, I asked the men to stop working until I could reach the rep. he was very rude and stated that his was his day off and he wasn't coming to us, we could cancel the installation and he and the men could come back when it was his normal work day. After getting nowhere with this rep. we called the local office and complained, we were told to just let the men install everything, and then Empire Today will come back during the week, we really didn't have a choice, since we were moving from our rental home to come back to our home that was rebuilt after the fire.
We tired for several months to get someone to come to our home from Empire Today, Mike Hatak never returned our calls, now it's nine months later and all of our laminate flooring is coming up, we finally got the new customer service manager to our home (he works for mike), he took pictures of all the bad carpet, as well as the bad laminate flooring, he stated that they (Empire Today) would replace all the carpet as well as the laminate flooring, Empire Today said that since we didn't want to go with laminate flooring, that they would (and we have in writing) replace all the laminate flooring with ceramic tile. Well two days ago, after spending two days at Home Depot, Lowes and a local ceramic flooring store picking out the tile of our choice, giving all the details to Empire Today, and them stating that they were just waiting for one more estimate from the ceramic flooring installer, we received a letter from Empire Today stating that they will not replace the laminate flooring with ceramic tile, our choice is to go with new laminate or a hard wood flooring. Everything that the new customer service man told us and wrote to us, he stated that he was wrong to offer this, and he now feels that Empire Today is not wrong and that's the way it is.
Needless to say, we are back to where we started nine months ago. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 31-Jan-06 19:49:24 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
