My complaint is against the department store JC
Penney. I purchased a Lane sectional from the Citrus
Heights California store a year ago. The couch began
ripping at the seams in 5 different places. I
contacted the store and was given a customer service
phone # to call. I called and reported the problem and
was told someone would call in a few days to make an
in home appointment. Two months later I finally
recieved a call and was visited by a man who looked at
the couch and wrote a few things down he said that I
would recieve a call soon. A month or so passed and I
still had not recieved a call. I then called the store
again and was refered back to the customer service
number. They explained that the in home representative
had determined that the rips were due to customer use.
I asked to speak with a supervisor who said they would
review the case and call me back. That was about a
month ago and I still have recieved no call! My couch
continues to rip in other place and the existing rips
are getting larger from normal use. I refuse to accept
that it is normal for a piece of expensive furniture
to fall apart in less then a year. I want to warn
other consumers not to spend thier hard earned money
on furniture at JC Penney!
