MDG Computers In November I purchased a computer for $1275.00 from the MDG Hamilton East store. I had trouble with it freezing and I could not shut it down by the tower. I took it in and the manager asked what I had downloaded. When I mentioned Incredimail he said that was the problem and that it was spyware. I am a 62 year old woman that knows nothing about computers. But I asked him how he could tell when he hadn't even hooked it up. He looked at me as if I was stupid. He said it would cost $ 40.00 plus tax. I asked him about the warranty and was told not to go there,that it wasn't an option. I stupidly left the computer there. The next day I went to pick the computer up and noticed it was scratched all over. When I showed it to the salesman that had brought the computer out and asked what happened he said the manager worked on it. All of a sudden the manager came out from the back yelling that the computer had not been moved. I said I didn't care where it sat and obviously it had been moved. All I knew was that the computer was scratched. He told me to leave his store. When I asked "your store" he said yes" bitch " and told me to get out again. My daughter was with me and she told him she was going to report him. His reply was "welcome to the franchise". I understand what he meant now. It took them a week to answer my complaint. They apologized for the treatment I received from the manager and that they would take any discipline action that they felt was necessary. They also said they were not liable for the scratches on the computer even if they knew that the damage was a result of their negligence.And as for the computer still freezing they said to take it to another MDG store and they would service it. I want a new computer and I am not letting this drop. I will never buy anything from MDG computers again. I cannot accept that I could be treated like that and that he could get away with it.
