Figi's cheese & meat packages Figi's Inc - Business OFC 3200 South Maple Avenue Marshfield, WI 54449 I mailed in an order to Figi's on December 9, 2005 for my 90 year old mother who is living with me. The order was in my name, but my mother wrote one of her own checks to pay the total amount of the order, $70.93. Mom ordered three Christmas packages, one for her sister, one for a friend, and one to be delivered here at my house as a gift for my next door neighbor. On December 16, 2005, my mom realized she hadn't specified any notes to be sent with the packages to her sister and her friend. So, I signed up at the Figi's website so I could contact Figi's about the notes. Two days later, on December 18, I received an answer from Figi's, telling me that they hadn't received our order and asking for more information, such as full name and address, etc. After a couple of more email exchanges, the order had still not been located. <> On the evening of December 21, 2005, I received a phone call from a Figi’s representative. He told me that he had searched Figi’s records for both my name and my mom’s name and could find no indication that the order had ever arrived at Figi’s. He strongly urged me to cancel the check. I was very reluctant to do so, because my mom had already told me she still wanted the goods sent, even if they were late. </><>The Figi’s representative told me that the order was probably lost in the mail, since Figi’s would surely have received it by now (December 21, 2005) after having mailed the order in on December 9, 2005. Again, he strongly urged me to cancel Mom’s check! I reluctantly agreed that it was probably the wise thing to do. When our conversation ended, I assumed that any order with Figi’s was now effectively canceled, since the check we sent would now be canceled. I canceled the check the same night online at Mom’s bank. I had no idea the bank charges $31.00 for this service! I had never canceled a check before! </><>To my surprise, I received an email from Figi’s on December 28, 2005 telling me my order was confirmed! On December 29, 2005, I received another email telling me my order was shipped! I went to the Figi’s website and checked my account status. It said there was a zero balance. I foolishly imagined that Figi’s had shipped my items at no charge, because of their own error in losing my order. It had been there all along! On January 5, 2006, both my Mom's sister and friend received their orders, with no notes of course! At this date (January 30, 2006) the third order scheduled to come to my address, has never arrived! A few days later, I checked my account status on Figi's website. To my amazement, they had itemized my total as $85.93 to include a "returned check" fee of $15.00! First they had insisted that I cancel the check, then they had attempted to cash a canceled check! Unbelievable! </><>I decided to write them a letter, but they do not list a physical address on their website. So, I did a Google search trying to find their physical address. I found it, of all places, on Complaints.com! I told them in my first letter where I found their address! I also told them, in my first letter, dated 1-8-2006, that my mother was willing to send them</> $39.93. This is $70.93 minus the $31.00 that Figi’s cost her to cancel the check, when they had the order all along! Once I realized that the third order was never going to arrive, I wrote them another letter telling them we were even. In between my first letter and my second letter, I received a physical invoice from them for $85.93! At this writing, January 30, 2006, I still haven't received any coherent response from Figi's.
