Rebatestatus.com makes customer sick and give up

I think this is the most pathetic rebate processing service and any company who us this for processing rebate doesn’t mean to return your money. One good example is Verizon Wireless. I bought a plan with 300$ mail in rebate from Verizon last year 3 Jan 2005. I have submitted my rebate 4 times and kept calling them as follow up in 4-5 weeks of submission. Every time I call they don’t find my record and ask me to fax again. It’s been a year now and they still don’t find me in their system and response back with same.

Here what happened with me every for last 3 time-

1. Called them 866-800-4303

You have to spend 3-4 minutes to go thru their automated check before you get option for press “0” to speak to customer representative.

After 4 minute you press “0” and wait without any music “dead silence” for at least 5 min you may hang up thinking you lost the line. A busy message will come again you wait in silence for 5 minutes.

2. Some one attends call after 15-20 minutes silence and will say we have not find a record in system faxed again on 480-606-4313.

I have record of faxing and calling them 3-4 times successfully. Can I sue this company? It’s really shame to Verizon using such a pathetic rebate processing company. Is there any way to bring this to their knowledge? Or they might be hiring them intentionally for making their customer sick and give up.

I think using Mail in rebate as a tool to encourage sale must be a fraud, have any one made any legal case and won?

Thanks,
