US CELLULAR selling phones and making them worthless with codes

I was in Illinois and go there frequently. I found myself in a situation where i needed a cell phone so I went to US Cellular and told them that I needed a national plan. That I was going to be travelling a lot. They sold me a national plan with my Arkansas drivers liscense. With a $200 deposit, I didn't think that was so weird being out of state and all. I purchased a phone for $49.99 . Later, while in Arkansas I found that the national plan wasn't good while I am here. I paid my phone bill and asked them why I couldn't get the national plan while in Arkansas. They were going to charge me roaming rates for each minute because they don't have towers here and could not offer me service in Arkansas. They charged me $150 to cancel the contract they could not fill, because they couldn't sell me the phone at $49.99 if I wasn't on their plan. Now I have paid $200 for this phone. Then I find out that US CELLULAR has MY $200 phone locked with a code. They refuse to unlock it or give me the access code to unlock it. So that I can not use it with any other carrier available in my area. I purchased an audiovox flip phone with a camera and it is worthless because I unfortunately purchased it from US CELLULAR. MY father has the exact same phone that he purchased from ALLTEL and US CELLULAR wont give the 6 digit code or unlock MY phone. I am going to call UT the maker of AUDIOVOX and see if they can help me with my worthless $200 phone that I bought from US CELLULAR who wont give me a refund either. The prices listed here are above my phone bills with this company of which I paid on time and in full and there is a balance on my account of $25credit where they have over drawn on my credit card.

If I don't have the right to TRY to get service from another carrier with my phone that I bought for more than a fair price. I should call my credit card company and ask about a chargeback on US CELLULAR's charges for the phone and return the phone that is worthless to all but them. I am convinced that it is fraud for them to sell me a phone and then disable it so I can't use it. I can see here on the internet that I am not the only one that believes that US CELLULAR has fraudulent practices. Basically, US CELLULAR STINKS! They are only doing this to upstanding customers because just anyone don't keep major credit cards. They use your good credit and honesty against you.
