In September of 2005, after coming across their banner advertisement on a website, starting, and then ceasing to complete the application process to obtain this secured credit card, I received a follow-up call from a Mike O’Shay of Infinite Financial (727-475-3106 or 866-347-6671) encouraging me to rebuild my credit through their secured credit card service. Mr. O’Shay guaranteed that I could use the money on this credit card in any way that I want, including to pay off high interest rate credit cards. I agreed to two withdrawals from my checking account, one in mid-October and the other in mid-November, totaling $250. A few days later, even though the company seemed legitimate and I could find no online complaints against them, I felt uneasy by the entirely verbal exchange of information and the lack of any written (via e-mail or regular mail) correspondence with this company, so I contacted them to rescind my permission for them to withdraw any money from my account.
I then discovered that their toll-free number ONLY puts people into a voicemail system. The outgoing message promises a response within 48 hours, but the people running this company do NOT call back. (Since I started dealing with them, they now state in their outgoing message that no cancellations or changes to debits and other transactions will be done without the consumer speaking directly with a customer service representative, yet their representatives do not return calls. This part of the message was not present back in September.) Regardless, I called the original number and spoke with Mike O’Shay in October (after several weeks of attempting to call the customer service number without a single call back), who promised me that he would cancel the transaction ahead of time. I made the mistake of believing him.
Due to personal problems and my bank statement mistakenly being picked up and held by a neighbor, I only recently realized that both withdrawals had been made from my account. I NEVER received a credit card or any written information from this company. The number that I initially used to contact Mr. O’Shay, like the toll-free number, now ONLY goes into voicemail. I needed to shut down my checking account to keep this company out of it. When I threatened to sue, I received two phone calls from a customer service representative during a period in which I stated in my last message to them that I would be out of the house. Trying to return that call has resulted in the same voicemail message system through which consumers are incapable of reaching a human being.
The website address that I list at the top of this e-mail is no longer functional. Any attempt to access a different part of the site, including reaching customer service, dumps you back to the home page.
I tried contacting Payment Processors, Inc. (480-924-3100) to let them know that the deductions that they made from my account are unauthorized and to demand direct contact information regarding Integrity Financial. While the lady with whom I spoke seemed nice and genuinely surprised, she failed to provide this contact information, and the call that she promised that I would receive from Integrity Financial (i.e., Infinite Financial) at the urging of Payment Processors still has not come, six days later. A follow-up call to Payment Processors has only resulted in voicemail, so I am thinking that they may be in on this fraud together.
Obviously, you should stay away from these companies if you are even considering dealing with them. I received no credit card or paperwork documenting my transaction, and I lost $250.
I wholeheartedly urge you to do as I am in filing complaints and legal charges against these companies with the Better Business Bureau and every consumer fraud agency I can contact about this matter.
