[Fwd: Other: wrongful charges [Incident: 060108-000711]]] godaddy.com refuses to reverse a fradulent charge it made to my credit card; a charge of $9.20 appeared on my credit card statement recently and, since i did not order any product or service from godaddy.com, i contacted them (emails below) for a refund. each time, the customer service rep utterly skirts the issues and ignores my request. this situation is very simple: *over a year ago*, i closed the godaddy.com domain name account we had opened briefly and have had no dealings with them since. i neither ordered nor authorized a renewal, and am shocked that godaddy still has my credit card information. i want this charge refunded and ALL MY INFORMATION REMOVED FROM GODADDY'S FILES. ---------------------------- Original Message ---------------------------- Subject: RE: [Fwd: Other: wrongful charges [Incident: 060108-000711]] From: Email User Date: Mon, January 16, 2006 4:43 pm To: Email User Cc: Email User -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The charge is only just now appearing on my credit card, on my last statement. That, however, is completely irrelevant. I DID NOT ORDER OR IN ANY WAY AUTHORIZE A DOMAIN NAME RENEWAL. That means that the charge is fraudulent, and it is godaddy's responsibility to reverse it, regardless of when the charge posted. Furthermore, I can't believe how incompetent your customer service is; not only do you not address the issue in this email, you completely ignored my request to *once again* CONFIRM IN WRITING THAT MY INFORMATION HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT OF YOUR DATABASE. This is very simple: Refund my money and get my name and credit card out of your system! > Dear Customer, > > Due to the fact that the renewal happened back in November, I am unable to > reverse those charges.
