Business Info

typeI do not have a business, just personal type. I just wanted you to know I left the Home Depot last Saturday morning fuming.

My husband and I saw your ad in the daily paper and an item was on sale. A Black and Decker tool.

So we got in the car and drove the miles to the store and was told the item had been sold. They said they had a couple of them and they were sold. So I asked for a raincheck, which any reputable business gives when they are out of stock and was told you do not give rainchecks at all. Well, I voiced my opinion on that and then the lady behind the counter said if I paid for one right away , she would order it and then I could pick it up when it came in. Okay, this was acceptable to me so while I was making out the check, she got on the computer and tells me that the item was unavailable.

Then she said she would call Olympia and see if they had any. Which she did and she returned to tell me that they have 9 or so in stock. Okay, I asked her if they would send one to the store and she said NO>

I was supposed to travel to Olympia to get it. 60 miles out of my way for an item that was on sale.

I just want you to know I was so irate by this time, I don't know if I will ever shop there again. And believe me, I'm not afraid to let people know how you do business.

The item referred to was a $29.95 Black & Decker soldering iron- on sale for $9.95. I really feel now, that this was a scam to draw people into the store without any concern that they might be wasting their time.

I think that if you want to build up your relationship with your customers that you bend a little and make sure that if you advertize a product for sale that you have a supply to sell.

Now that I've got that off my chest, I feel better.

Thank you
