COMPUSERVE INTERNET SERVICE.

I have been with this company for my internet service for many years. I just re-newed my acct. with them recently and was told specifically they would debit my checking acct. for $19.95 starting on a specific date, well, when I called my bank to comfirm the transaction, Compuserve had debited my acct. for $59.95, which, within 2 hrs. from that time I would have been overdrawn and cost me another $50.00 for overdraft charges. I called and spoke with a mgr. and he said it was because I wasn't actually canceled during the 2 months I didnt use it so they debited for those 2 months as well. I am on s.s. and every penny counts in my acct. I threatened to get an attorney and think I still will because of they using my acct. so freely and lying to me at to how much they would debit me for. I do believe that is against the law, in closing he said he would give me the next 2 months for 'FREE!" NOTHING free about it I pd for it in advance. Im appauled to say the least!
