Trend Times Toys and Gifts Advetises Remote Control Toys and Scooters - Located in Arizona
Trend Time Toys http://trendtimes.com/ advertises all over the Internet for remote control toys. Unfortunately I did not check them out, I relied on the good name of Yahoo Stores and Google. Had I checked I would have seen the numerous complaints against this company for what can only be viewed as fraud. I ordered a remote control helicopter from this company after doing an extensive Internet search on the toy. They looked very professional, guaranteed delivery before December 22nd, and that the RC Helicopter for $99.95 would be first rate quality. I began trying to contact the company when it did not arrive by the 22nd of December as promised, I continued to try and contact them daily via email as instructed, no response. The helicopter finally arrived on December 27th (too late for Christmas) and it is a complete rip-off, it not only does not work, the parts do not go together. They are not returning phone calls or emails despite the message on their phone stating to email them. After searching their site more, I discovered that they specifically state that helicopters are not returnable as they are checked before shipment. I suppose they feel this will let them off the hook. I have also discovered that the telephone number they show is a Telelink in Newfoundland, this is the same number they list with the Arizona state Business license department. They have no physical address, only mail drops. I found over 40 recent complaints filed against them with the Better Business Bureau of Arizona. I am pretty confident with the research I have uncovered this company is conducting scam sales of products they know to be defective and once the calls start coming in they just ignore the calls. Because of this truly horrible experience I feel I can no longer trust companies advertised through Google or Yahoo sponsored sites. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 17-Feb-09 14:18:32 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI ordered and paid for an instock rc boat on 12/2/08 from Trendtimes.com. It was for my grandson for Christmas. On 12/15/08 I emailed them to see where it was because the order said 5-10 days for delivery. On 12/17/08 they responded with: "It has shipped, should be there by monday." Samantha| No tracking info at all included. To this date of 12/25/08 it has never arrived. I emailed them everyday from 12/20 to 12/25 and have not heard from them again. They have an 800 number but it has a recording on it. I have contested the charge on my credit card to see if I can get my money back. I am very cautious with online purchases, but these clowns got me. Caution, they really look legit!

I just had a creepy experience with Trend Times, and I didn't even buy anything. Here's a copy of the first chat session I had with them on 12-3-08: ***** Please wait for a site operator to respond. You are now chatting with 'Alexis' Alexis: Hello. How may I assist you? you: I have a couple of questions regarding the Horse Racing Game (item # 021-165). The description says it measures 75"L x 22"W x 75"H. How can it be 75" in height? Also, are one AAA battery and three AA batteries all it really needs to run? For a $70 game, that's not much power. Is there an option to plug the game into a wall? Thanks for your time! Alexis: probably supposed to be 7.5" you: Also, are one AAA battery and three AA batteries all it really needs to run? For a $70 game, that's not much power. Is there an option to plug the game into a wall? Alexis: Just the batteries you: Can the game be returned if it's not what we wanted? Alexis: We don't refund shipping fee's and we subtract 25% of the item for restocking you: Does the manufacturer offer a warranty or guarantee? Alexis: guarantee to work when you get it you: I guess I'm a bit confused. Does the manufacturer's warranty cover 100% of the cost if the game does not work, as opposed to Trend Times keeping $17.50 (or 1/4 of the cost) to "restock" if it's simply not what we anticipated? Alexis: We would send you a replacement if it didn't work you: Okay. Thanks for your time. Alexis: You're welcome ***** Now here's the chat session from this evening (12-8-08): Please wait for a site operator to respond. You are now chatting with 'Alexis' Alexis: Hello. How may I assist you? you: How come I can't add the horse racing game (Item #021-165) to the shopping cart? Alexis: We are out of stock until after the holidays you: Great. It would have been really nice to have been informed of that when you and I chatted last Wednesday about this product. (Assuming you're the same "Alexis.") If y'all were low on stock, could you have told me that at the time? If so, then I guess I'll take my Christmas shopping elsewhere...? Alexis: correct Chat session has been terminated by the site operator. ***** And my subsequent attempt at contacting them via "chat:" I don't understand why you terminated this chat session. Could you answer my question, please? If you knew last Wednesday that you were out-of-stock on this item, why did you not tell me? I almost bought the item, and now I'm concerned that I would have given your company my credit card info, only to discover that I might have been swindled or something...? Please understand that, as an internet consumer, I have no idea if you're one person, handling communications for a small company, or if you're several (or several hundred) persons, answering multiple chat sessions. So, please, give me a break. I’ll be happy to give you ALL my contact info! I live in Austin, Texas. ***** They have not responded, after I gave them my personal e-mail address (required after THEY "terminate" chatting with you). Obviously, Trend Times is a major scam!!!!! When I called to order, they were very cordial, but when I asked to speak to customer service, they are surly and abrupt. I got the copter, and the charger does not charge; there is a loose connection inside the charger case. The adapter sent with the remote control was a 9 pin, although the salesman said it was USB. He said that he will send a driver via email. I will have to purchase an adapter to run the simulator. He said that he could send another remote for $30.00. My fault for not checking them out up front. That will never happen again, I promise. Maybe we will all learn to look first, and avoid these turds. NEVER TRUST THEM, I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Monday, 05-May-08 17:47:48 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI am also in the process of trying to get a complaint resolved concerning two helicopters I purchased in November of 2007. First, only one helicopter came. After a call, the second one was sent. Both were given as gifts at Christmas but the first one was broken when delivered. After a call in the first week of January, I was told a third helecopter was being sent out and it never arived. Today I sent a message explaining the problem and was offered a store credit for about 15% less than was charged to my credit card. I have responded that that offer is not acceptable and am waiting a week before I take further action. I asked that my problem be forwarded to the responder's supervisor or the section involved with customer service or customer retention. After reading your incidents / problems, I fear I may never hear from them again. I called and was told that it would be here Dec. 21; however, to my dismay, my item was not shipped until Dec. 14. I talked to a manager (Michale R.) and he was very rude. I tried calling the company back (Dec. 24) but of course, it's closed for the holidays. I am in the process of writing letters and sharing this informatino with my influential friends in the federal government and major news outlets. Trend Times will be sorry and I will see this to the end! If you would like to join me, please do so! A very unhappy customer in Texas!!! When I requested a tracking number for the shipment, I received an email that they were kept "internally" and the plant was closed. Item did arrive, and lo and behold, it was busted inside the packaged box. No shipping papers, no return information, no receipt. Upon emailing this company, I was given a telephone number to "call", which NO ONE answers. When I emailed them that I had researched them and found numerous complaints and was disputing their charge to my credit card company to deny their charge to my account; I immediately received a reply that they had shipped out a replacement. We shall see... but I'd advise against purchasing ANYTHING from this website.
