REVERSAL OF ANNUAL FEES & FREE LIFE TIME CREDIT CARD regarding.

Ref:My SBI CREDIT CARD NO.4317-5755-04ss-1sss. STATEMENT FOR THE PERIOD ENDING 7th Dec 05 to 6th Jan ' 06.;

I AM SURPRISED TO NOTICE THAT AS USUAL LIKE EVERY YEAR, I HAVE BEEN CHARGED Rs.826.50 debiting my credit card a/c towards annual renewal fees of Credit card. While in the recent past even SBI Savings Bank A/c Holders have been asked to apply for FREE LIFE TIME CARD and when I enquired the local SBI, they told the a/c holders who are having sbi crdit cards already, will automatically get life time free cards while renewal of the credit card. MY S.B.I. SAVINGS BANK A/C FOR THE LAST 10 YRS., IS 00000010442383371 IN SBI HAL CAMPUS BRANCH OF HYDERABAD, BRANCH CODE NO.1676; Contrary to free time life card to such a valued customer like me who has also got a very fair and heavy user of ur SBI CREDIT card, (see the recent transactions running into thousands and see my credit card limit of over Rs.1.00 lakh which shows the creditworthiness of mine); u seem to be penalisising the passive customers by routine way of charging annual fees like BAKRAAS.

When I contacted ur customer service no., I am told by ur executive Ms Vanita a few days back that the Annual fees shall be reversed and credited back in full because of my track record of valued customer. When I further enquired her of Life Time card, she told that it is for other Banks" Credit Card Holders who are offered for attracting other Banks clinetele. I AM SHOCKED ATONCE TO HEAR THIS SORT OF SBI CONCEPT, because I am also a Finance Head in Public sector. Then what about SBI's own already exisitng clients being deprived of Life time cards and is it the punishment to them for being SBI creditcard holders? In this a smell of Governmental dictatorship, bureaucratic tendencies and bad managerial decisions are seen which I am afraid that the existing outstanding clients like me shall get demoralised and switch over to HSBC, ICICI , Standard chartered Bank of private sector who are away from all these bureaucratic and autocratic governmental tendencies. Is it the competition and emulating Managerial practice of SBI? In modern Management it is the customer relation that pays.

In most of the SBI branches a new slogan like Private sector's is seen"CUSTOMER IS GOD". .But it sounds hypocratic and rather sounds like CUSTOMER IS DOG the way he is treated once he becomes already a customer with the above tendency of depriving of life card and charging them annual fees and remission only after customer redresses or asks for that. Even slogans have also become just for copying the Managerial jargon of Private sector but practices are still bureaucratic and governmental type. Thus longstanding customers like me are humiliated.

I EXPECT A PROPER REPLY TO THIS LETTER OF GRIEVANCE AND IF NECESSARY I SHALL HIGHLIGHT THE UNPALATABLE CUSTOMER RELATIONS THAT SBI IS PRACTISING, TO SBI CHAIRMAN FOR NECESSARY CORRECTIVE ACTION, WHICH HE MAY NOT BE SO FAR AWARE OF;.

IF U DON'T WANT TO ENCOURAGE SATISFACTORY CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP, PLEASE CANCEL MY CREDIT CARD AND I AM NOT INTERESTED IN REMISSION OF ANNUAL FEES ALONE . I WANT AN ANSWER AS TO WHY AT ALL IT IS CHARGED IN MY CARD AND WHY LIFE TIME CARD IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY OFFERED TOME AS WAS OFFERED TO SBI SAVINGS BANK CARD HOLDERS AND OTHER BANKS CARD HOLDERS. IF NOTHING IS HEARD FROM U ALSO, I TREAT THAT MY CREDIT CARD IS CANCELLED OFCOURSE CLEARING ALL MY GENUINE DUES;
