Cellular One

I discontinued service with Cellular One and paid off the balance on the account 12/22/2005 in the amount of $376. Then in January another bill came in with a $35 penalty for "NSF". I faxed "Cellular One" a copy of the December bank statement which categorically disproved this charge. In order to protect my account, this bank does not process electronic request (it seems this might be the reason for the problem Cellular one incurred and incorrectly ID it as "NSF"). I did not realize that only the electronic process is used at Cellular One because the paper billing states "mail your check to......". I use this bank to pay other companies with no problem. If the check is remitted to the bank, it will be paid. Cellular One did not remit the check for payment by an alternate method nor can they return the check to me because it has been shredded by them. Although, I have tried by phone, by letter, by fax to dispute and resolve the $35 charge, I'm not being granted. Today I tried to pay the $376 with my credit card and still the representative insisted on adding in the penalty fee AND A LATE FEE to boot. I am a customer who cares sincerely about my credentials and desire to pay this debt immediately but in all fairness I believe some flexibility should be granted to me by Cellular One. Customer friendly corporations, work with their customers who make a genuine effort to rectify a problem without attaching penalties and late fees!
